Type 2 Diabetes – Physical Activity Improves the Variation in Your Heart Rate
Although heart rates are regular in healthy people, some changes along the way are necessary as well.
The nervous system reacts to the need for more or less blood flow throughout the body by altering the speed of the heartbeats.
In Type 2 diabetes the heart rate can stay the same more than is preferred because the condition damages the nervous system.

A healthy number of changes in the heart rate is associated with better health and a longer life. Scientists at the Universidad Extremadura in Caceres, Spain, and the Universidad Autonoma de Talca in Chile reviewed several articles showing aerobic exercise followed by muscle training could help improve changes in the heart rate.
Their work reported on in September 2017 in the journal Current Diabetes Reports, pooled the information from fifteen studies on the subject of exercise and heart rate changes. Improvements were seen in nine of the studies. The nine studies demonstrated three days of aerobic exercise each week along with some strength training, improved the number of changes in the heart rate.
From this information, the investigators concluded heartbeat rate changes should be measured in people with Type 2 diabetes to help plan routines for preventing diabetic neuropathy and death.

Strength training is exactly what the name implies. Pushing against or moving an object is strength training. Lifting weights and doing push-ups are classic examples. Mowing a lawn combines both types of physical activity.
Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.
